Terms of service

These terms govern your use of yestonotes (the "Service"), operated by Honest Efforts LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

The product

yestonotes is a personal memory system. You capture text and audio; an AI groups your captures into thoughts, actions, and topics. The AI never rewrites your text — it only sorts and groups. Audio is transcribed in seconds and the recording is then deleted; we keep only the text transcript.

Account & sign-in

Authentication is handled by Clerk on our behalf. You're responsible for the security of your sign-in credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us at contact@yestonotes.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

Subscription & billing

The Service is offered on three recurring plans: Monthly ($5/mo), Quarterly ($13/quarter), and Annual ($45/year).
A payment method is required at sign-up. You're not charged during your 14-day trial. After the trial, your plan auto-renews at the chosen interval unless canceled.
Billing is processed by Stripe.
You can change plans, update payment methods, or cancel at any time from Settings → Billing in the app, which redirects to Stripe's hosted Customer Portal.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

Your content

Everything you capture in the Service — text, audio transcripts, topic groupings, edits — is your content. You own it; we don't claim any rights to it. We process and store it solely to operate the Service for you.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, transmit, and process your content as required to run the Service — for example, processing your data for AI classification and storage with external service providers to fulfill the features of the app like classification and data persistence. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.

Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

Use the Service to store, transmit, or generate content that is illegal under US or Massachusetts law (CSAM, threats, infringement, fraud, etc.).
Attempt to disrupt the Service, circumvent rate limits, or extract data via automated means beyond your own account.
Resell or sublicense the Service to other parties.

Intellectual property

Termination

You may cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. For most violations we'll reach out first and give you a chance to address the issue. For serious violations — such as illegal content or an active security threat to our systems or other users — we may suspend the account immediately to limit harm, and follow up with notice afterward. On termination we delete your captures and personal data within 30 days unless legal retention obligations require otherwise.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of AI classification, or that the Service will meet every requirement you have.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Honest Efforts LLC's total liability arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to your account address at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.
